Wolf Moon

the moon
came in
to wash
my face
with reflected
light

the moon
hung
bright
brought
my heart
a picture

the moon
rises and sets
over the
land
lovers
love

early one morning
I woke from a dream
all my parts
animal alive
light ravished
craving

over the cornfield
lantern light
on a darkening
night sky
to stop
breathing

calls the tide
over the lake
earth
rises up
like
like music

the full moon
brought me
a gift
like you did
then slipped under
the horizon

a huge ball
a beacon
back drop
to my knees
as though death
came by

the blood
pours
out a story
to greet
us wolves
like the moon
